SERDANG, 10 April – The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), received an official visit from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) as part of efforts to strengthen knowledge sharing and best practices in the field of veterinary medicine.
The visit involved a delegation of eleven (11) representatives from UniSZA, comprising faculty management members and technical officers. Their presence reflects the commitment of both institutions to academic collaboration and expand professional networks within the veterinary field.
The programme also included presentation sessions and bilateral discussions focusing on the development of clinical facilities, diagnostic services, and veterinary hospital operations management. This exchange is crucial in supporting the systematic, effective, and competitive development of veterinary teaching hospitals.
Throughout the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to tour various key facilities at FPV UPM, including the Veterinary Medical Library, Lecture Halls, Bacteriology Laboratory, Parasitology Laboratory, Virology Laboratory, Animal Anatomy Museum, Postmortem Laboratory, and the University Veterinary Hospital (UVH). This exposure provided a comprehensive overview of the faculty’s teaching, research, and clinical service components.
Overall, the visit is expected to serve as a catalyst for stronger collaboration between FPV UPM and UniSZA, while contributing to the enhancement of veterinary education, research, and services at both national and regional levels.
