9 July 2024, Serdang. The Office of the Deputy Dean of Research & Graduate Studies (TDPS) and the Vet-CPD unit, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia organized the workshop "A Guide to Effective Grant Writing: Grant Putra & FRGS". This seminar was officiated by Professor Goh Yong Meng, Dean of the UPM Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Two speakers were invited, namely the lecturer of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Dr Abdul Rahman Omar and also Professor Dr Wan Kiew Lian from the National University of Malaysia, while the moderator of the seminar was Dr NurMahiza Mohd Isa. This seminar is organized because statistical data shows a decrease in the number of FPV lecturer grant recipients over the last five years.         Therefore, the office of the Deputy Dean of Research & Graduate Studies, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine feels that it is appropriate to organize an explanation in the form of a seminar to strengthen the understanding of grant writing, especially among young lecturers.          The objective of this seminar is to provide information to faculty academics on effective grant writing. In addition, this seminar can strengthen the lecturer's understanding of the specific requirements according to the grant requirements. The findings from this seminar are also able to improve the knowledge of young FPV researchers in the field of research, especially in the production of working papers. This seminar can also open space and improve the quality of research and grant recipients among lecturers, especially those in the early stages of their careers. Lecturers can also meet, discuss and get advice and 'tips' from experts directly and are able to produce better quality research papers.
