Kota Kinabalu, August 8, 2024 – The SUKUM 2024 championship, held at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) from August 8 to 17, has seen active participation not only from student athletes but also from staff and university personnel. UMS has meticulously organized various events to ensure the smooth and successful running of the championship.

The opening ceremony on August 8 was marked by a lively celebration with cultural performances and a range of activities involving the entire UMS community. Staff and university personnel have also played a crucial role in making this event a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

In this edition of SUKUM, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has contributed by sending ten of their athlete representatives. These athletes, selected based on their outstanding performance in previous training and competitions, will represent their faculty in various sports events. The sports contested include athletics, football, badminton, chess, track and field, petanque, table tennis, and darts.
