SERDANG, 6 April – The University Veterinary Hospital (UVH), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), continues to strengthen its role as an academic veterinary referral center following the contribution of glucose monitoring equipment from i-SENS Biosensors Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. This initiative reflects a strategic industry–academia collaboration aimed at supporting animal welfare and enhancing the quality of clinical services.

The contribution includes 10 units of the VetMate® glucose monitoring system, which are used to monitor blood glucose levels in animals, particularly cats and dogs. The equipment is estimated to be worth RM1,050.00 and is expected to benefit veterinary patients requiring close monitoring, while supporting more efficient and precise treatment efforts.

This initiative is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme by i-SENS Biosensors Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., which aims to strengthen collaboration between industry and academic institutions, while supporting clinical activities and community care initiatives carried out by the faculty.

The UVH management warmly welcomed the contribution and expressed appreciation for i-SENS’s commitment to supporting the development of veterinary services. The contribution is seen as a catalyst for UVH’s ongoing efforts to provide high-quality treatment services, while also supporting teaching, learning, and research activities at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UPM.

This strategic collaboration also reflects the readiness of both parties to explore broader opportunities in the future, particularly in knowledge transfer, research, and talent development within the veterinary sector.
