SERDANG, 12 May – The Universiti Veterinary Hospital (UVH), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organised the “Meet & Talk UVH Siri 2/2026” programme as an internal communication platform to strengthen the sharing of management aspirations and the hospital’s current direction among all UVH staff members. The programme also served as a platform to foster stronger professional relationships between the faculty management and the UVH community.
Meet & Talk UVH is a periodic initiative that provides an avenue for UVH staff to gain insights into the hospital’s performance, challenges, and strategic planning. Through this approach, every member of UVH can better understand their respective roles in ensuring that veterinary services are delivered more efficiently, systematically, and with high quality in line with the aspirations of Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Among the main highlights of the programme was the address delivered by the newly appointed Deputy Dean of Hospital (TDH), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Hezmee Mohd Noor, who emphasised the importance of organisational stability, strengthening work systems, and cultivating a professional work culture among UVH staff. In his address, he shared that UVH recorded a 20 percent increase in hospital revenue and a 60 percent increase in operational surplus, further demonstrating UVH’s strong potential to continue growing as a leading veterinary referral hospital in the country.
In addition, he outlined four key focus frameworks (The 4 Pillars) as the foundation of his administration in building team stability, namely preserving UVH’s distinguished identity, enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening resource management, and safeguarding staff welfare. UVH staff were also encouraged to move away from silo work practices and adopt a more proactive teamwork approach to ensure the smooth operation of the hospital.
Throughout his term of appointment, focus will be placed on refining the existing systems and processes, including continuing and further strengthening functions that have proven effective, while sustaining the momentum to move in the right direction. He added, “Within this short period, I do not promise to solve every problem overnight; there is no magic wand. What matters most is leaving behind a stronger and more organised foundation for future continuity.”
The programme was further marked by the symbolic handover ceremony of the Deputy Dean of Hospital position as a reflection of leadership continuity and management commitment in sustaining UVH’s excellence. The event also included an appreciation ceremony for former TDH, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noraniza Mohd Adzahan, as well as Mrs. Munirah Abdul Rahman, Senior Assistant Veterinary Officer, in recognition of their services and contributions to UVH throughout their tenure at the hospital.
