SERDANG, 20 August – University Veterinary Hospital (UVH), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), hosted an educational visit by students from the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.) programme at IMU University on 13 August 2026. The visit involved 16 students accompanied by two staff members.

The visit was part of the Veterinary Pharmacy module offered under the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.) programme in Semester 5. The programme provided students with an opportunity to gain exposure to a real-world working environment and connect the theoretical knowledge acquired in their studies with its application in relevant fields.

Throughout the visit, the students were given an overview of the environment and management of the Pharmacy Unit and Unit Store at the Large Animal Unit, UVH. The visit also provided students with insights into pharmacy management within a veterinary hospital setting and its role in supporting the delivery of clinical services.

The organisation of the visit marked a continuation of the collaboration between the School of Pharmacy, IMU University and UVH, which has been carried out in previous years. This collaboration reflects UVH’s continued support for educational institutions in providing students with learning experiences based on real-world situations.

Overall, the educational visit added value to the students’ learning through direct exposure to a professional environment. Initiatives such as this also strengthen the collaborative relationship between the two universities in supporting educational development and enhancing students’ understanding of the practical application of knowledge in professional fields.
