Dean's Message

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is one of the founding faculty of Universiti Pertanian Malaysia, which is now known as Universiti Putra Malaysia. Since it’s establishment in 1973, the Faculty has undergone internal and external transformation.

Continuous improvements have been implemented to our academic programs, researches, and professional services as well as extension in order to remain relevant in fulfilling the Country’s needs as well as able to compete at global front.

The Faculty has proven its superiority by being the first veterinary school in the world to receive ISO 9001 certification. 

All activities are now subject to the procedures of MS ISO 9001 which include undergraduate and graduate studies, research, continuous education, administration and professional services including veterinary hospital. In addition, some of the diagnosis services of animal diseases offered via laboratory tests have been accredited by MS ISO17025.

Currently, the offered doctor veterinary medicine program is been  accredited by the Malaysia Veterinary Council and in the proses of acquiring the accreditation by an international body,  the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council Inc (AVBC).

The academic staff, clinicians and veterinary officers of the Faculty are experts in their respective fields and are actively involved in researches, services in treatment of animals and the control of animal diseases. Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is determined to be the leading school of veterinary science in the Asia Pacific region.
