    Established & coordinated postgraduate program in Tropical Fish health (1988-1994).
    Procured funds from International Development Research centre Canada and Network of Aquaculture centres in Asia to sponsor 27 students from 11 countries in Asia to undergo the postgraduate training.

    Supervising Postgraduate Students.
    Considerable experience in supervising postgraduate students. Was the main supervisor for 10 masters and five doctorate students who have successfully completed their degrees and currently the main supervisor for two masters and two doctorate students. Also co-supervisor for 3 masters 5 PhD students.

    Coordination - Asian Fish Health Network (1988-1995)
    Project sponsored by International Development Research Centre of Canada (IDRC). Responsible for monitoring research on fish health and organizing workshops, training courses and seminars for members of the recipient institutions of the IDRC funded project.Countries involved in the network included China, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

    Formation of Malaysian Fisheries Society.
    Played key role in the formation of the MFS and has been the president for various terms.

    Asian Fisheries Society Fish Health Section
    Symposium on Diseases in Asian Aquaculture I (1990 - Bali, Indonesia) and II (1993 - Phuket, Thailand).

    Malaysian Fisheries Society
    Several seminars related to fisheries. These seminars were held jointly with the Department related to fisheries. These seminars were jointly held with the Department of of Fisheries Malaysia, the Fisheries Development Authority or the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science
