Was the main supervisor for 10 masters and five doctorate students who have successfully completed their degrees and currently the main supervisor for two masters and two doctorate students. Also co-supervisor for 3 masters 5 PhD students.
  
  Coordination - Asian Fish Health Network (1988-1995)
  Project sponsored by International Development Research Centre of Canada (IDRC). Responsible for monitoring research on fish health and organizing workshops, training courses and seminars for members of the recipient institutions of the IDRC funded project.Countries involved in the network included China, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
  
  Formation of Malaysian Fisheries Society.
  Played key role in the formation of the MFS and has been the president for various terms.
