BACTERIOLOGY LABORATORY
Veterinary Bacteriology Laboratory provides services and accredited testing methods that include:
Test methods accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:
- Isolation of bacteria from veterinary, clinical and environmental samples.
- Identification of Streptococcus pyogenes
- Identification of Staphylococcus aureus
- Identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
- Identification of Pasteurella multocida
- Identification of Escherichia coli
- Antibiotic susceptibility test
- Microscopic agglutination test (MAT) for Leptospirosis
Test and services available:
- Isolation and identification of Leptospira.
- Isolation and identification of fungi.
- Isolation and identification of Mycobacterium.
- Isolation and identification of Mycoplasma.
- Isolation and identification of Brucella.
- Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for Leptospira species.
- Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for Mycoplasma species.
- Rose Bengal Plate Test (RBPT) for Brucella abortus / Brucella melitensis.
Application for each laboratory services can be made by sending the specimens directly to the Sample Submission Counter, Veterinary Laboratory Services Unit (VLSU). Kindly communicate with us directly for more information on possible testing services and fees.
