4 November 2022 - Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman Omar, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UPM invited Drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), Indonesia for a visit and discussion session to discuss on networking and collaboration that could benefit both faculties.
The meeting took place at Bilik Jemaah, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, UPM with exchanging welcome remarks, and faculty background sharing from the Deans of both universities, then continued with the discussion session for Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement. The main focus of the discussion was to conduct an exchange program for students, academic staff, and supporting staff, and also to organize conferences, seminars, and workshops. The meeting was also joined by faculty management members from both universities.
The visit then proceeded to a visiting session at University Veterinary Hospital (UVH) led by YBhg. Prof. Ts. Dr. Faez Firdaus Jesse Abdullah, Deputy Dean of Veterinary Hospital. Visitors were also exposed to the services and facilities available at the UVH and they were able to witness the treatment of companion animals and exotic animals being carried out by the Veterinary Officers on duty. In the evening, they were brought to visit the Anatomy Museum, the faculty’s library, and also the faculty’s laboratories led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hafandi Ahmad. Lastly, the visit ended with a visit to see wildlife animals led by Dr. Aida Zakaria.
The faculty would like to thank Drh. Teuku Reza Ferasyi and USK’s staff for their visit and hope to see them again in the future.
