SERDANG, 19 February – The University Veterinary Hospital (UVH), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organised the “Seminar on Elevating Pet Nutrition: Exploring Prescription Diets” as an effort to strengthen staff understanding of the importance of therapeutic nutrition in veterinary clinical management. The seminar was held on 13 February 2026 at Dewan Kuliah Veterinar A (DKV A), FPV.

The seminar formed part of UVH’s continuous professional development initiatives aimed at enhancing the professional competency of its staff. In addition to clinical procedures and medical treatment, appropriate and well-balanced nutrition plays a vital role in supporting recovery, improving treatment outcomes, and ensuring the overall well-being of animal patients.

The seminar involved 45 staff members from both the Management and Professional group as well as the Support group. This participation reflects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to strengthening knowledge and skills in line with current veterinary practices.

The session was delivered by Dr. Kristen Lim Cheng Im from Rhone Ma Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., who elaborated on the role of therapeutic nutrition in managing clinical cases based on specific diseases and patient needs. The session also highlighted appropriate feeding methods and techniques to support treatment and accelerate recovery.

The programme was conducted in collaboration with the industry partner, Rhone Ma Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., in supporting professional development and strengthening clinical practice at UVH.

Through this seminar, UVH continues to reinforce its role as a teaching hospital committed to knowledge-based practice, thereby contributing to the continuous improvement of veterinary service quality.
