Pharmacy Enforcement Division Visit to UVH for Type A Licence Assessment

SERDANG, 26 February – The University Veterinary Hospital (UVH), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), received an official inspection visit from the Pharmacy Enforcement Division in connection with its ongoing application for a Type A Licence.

 

A total of 10 officers were present, comprising five representatives from the Licensing Branch, Pharmacy Enforcement Division, and five officers from the Pharmacy Enforcement Branch, Pharmaceutical Services Division, Selangor State Health Department. The joint visit was conducted in relation to UVH’s application for a Type A Licence under the wholesale and retail categories.

 

The programme commenced with a briefing session at the UVH Meeting Room, where the delegation was introduced to the structure of FPV, UVH’s organisational placement within the faculty, and the scope of clinical and pharmaceutical services provided. The briefing outlined the operational requirements that necessitate the Type A Licence for both wholesale and retail activities.

 

The delegation then proceeded to the UVH Main Pharmacy to assess drug storage practices, stock control procedures, documentation management, and compliance with applicable legislation. During the inspection, officers from the Pharmacy Enforcement Division also provided guidance to ensure that all licensing requirements are met in a systematic and comprehensive manner.

 

Overall, the visit forms part of the Type A Licence assessment process and reflects UVH’s commitment to ensuring that its pharmacy operations are conducted in full compliance with the relevant regulatory framework.
