SERDANG, 23 April – The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), received a courtesy visit from the Chairman of the University Board of Directors (LPU), Dato’ Sri Jailani Johari, during an official visit held at the faculty. The visit was also attended by LPU members, Dr. Noraisah Mydin Haji Abdul Aziz and Mr. Mohamad Sabrie Mohamad Salleh.

The visit began with a welcoming session by the Dean of FPV, Prof. Dr. Goh Yong Meng, FASc, followed by a presentation on the faculty’s background and the achievements of the University Veterinary Hospital (UVH). The session also highlighted FPV’s strategic plans for 2026, which encompass strengthening veterinary education, advancing research, and contributing to industry development and public health well-being.

An engagement session between the LPU Chairman, FPV’s management team, and LPU members was also held as a platform for constructive two-way discussions. This session provided an opportunity to exchange views on current challenges and propose improvements aimed at enhancing the role of the veterinary field in national development, particularly within the agri-food sector.

The visit continued with a tour of the FPV Animal Anatomy Museum, which houses a collection of anatomical specimens that serve as essential teaching and learning resources in veterinary education. The delegation was then taken to the University Veterinary Hospital (UVH) to observe firsthand the facilities and clinical services provided. The visit offered a comprehensive overview of the faculty’s capability in delivering an integrated and holistic learning ecosystem.

Overall, the visit marked a significant step in strengthening the strategic relationship between the LPU and FPV, while also serving as a catalyst for continued collaboration towards institutional excellence. It is hoped that this partnership and exchange of insights will be further enhanced to ensure FPV remains relevant and competitive at both national and international levels.
