Serdang, July 6th 2023 – ScilVet Animal Care Company in collaboration with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine had successfully held the Updated Diagnostic Approach 2023 seminar on July 6th 2023. The topic discussed was “Hematology: Understanding what you see in Scattergram and Histogram” and also featured the launch of the Nu.Q Vet Cancer Test, a cancer screening test for dogs. Set at the Auditorium, FPV, this program was attended by almost 200 participants.
As program director, Dr Azalea Hani Othman, a senior Lecturer of FPV mentioned that the main objectives of the program were to empower future and practicing veterinarians in interpreting histogram and scattergram readings in hematology as well as understanding the use of Nu.Q Vet Cancer Test. A simple, cost-effective, and easy to use blood screening test that can help in the early diagnosis of canine cancer, which allow the initiation of treatment while the patient is still within stable condition. Greatly prolonging the life expectancy of the patient.
Through this enlightening seminar given by Dr Stefanie Klenner-Gastreich, respected hematology expert from ScilVet, Germany, we wish to enable our practicing veterinarians to be well informed of the technological advancements especially in veterinary internal medicine and diagnosis. Not only does this provide confidence in their diagnosis capabilities, but it also pushes for early treatment of said diseases.
